Louth Volunteer Centre delighted to launch Charities Regulator Registration Hub

There has been much coverage in the news over the past few months about regulation of the charity sector. Ireland’s charities, including the hundreds of charities all across Louth, play a vital role in our society and provide public benefit in diverse ways to communities locally, nationally and internationally. Having the trust and confidence of the public is essential to charities, as they exist to provide public benefit and many raise funds from the public to help meet the cost of their charitable work.

The Charities Regulator plays an important role in increasing public trust. As part of its engagement process to ensure full compliance with the Charities Act 2009, the Charities Regulator has partnered with the network of 21 Volunteer Centres across the country and Volunteer Ireland to offer support services to charitable organisations that have yet to complete their registration with the Regulator.

Louth Volunteer Centre will act as a ‘registration hub’ to support organisations to register with the Charities Regulator. This includes providing a ‘drop in’ support service on Wednesday mornings, offering practical supports to local charities in navigating the regulation process.
