Karen's Story

I have been volunteering in Childline Drogheda for the past 3 years . This involves phone calls , texts and online chats with young people . It has enriched my listening skills , it has taught me not to make assumptions or judge others, it has thought me compassion but never to be condescending. I have made amazing friends and every week learn something from the young people and from my fellow volunteers and supervisors. I feel that it was one of the smartest things that I decided to do in the last few years. Last year we won Childline team of the year and we were overjoyed that we were making a difference in the right way.
