Reviewing 2021

Reviewing 2021

2021 was a difficult year, volunteering was impacted by the lockdown and by restrictions but there were still many volunteering successes. At Louth Volunteer Centre we created and managed a number of programmes in order to ensure that volunteering was accessible and inclusive.

Bubble Buddies: Volunteers mobilised to act as the support bubble for a socially isolated individual or family.

Cards of Care: A role which allowed volunteers to send cards and letters by free post to people in nursing homes during lockdown.

Empowering You Empowering  Your Community Programme: Equipped participants with the knowledge to fulfil the duties of a voluntary board member in a Charity or Community & Voluntary sector organisation.

Migrant Network VolunteersGiving individual volunteers in the community the opportunity to share their experiences and help to improve services for others.

Festive Friends: Make a befriending visit to an isolated person in your area on Christmas Day as part of the Louth Community Volunteers programme.

Exploring Volunteering Sessions: Our monthly engagement via Zoom with volunteers to discuss opportunities and hear their volunteering stories.
