"Lens a Hand" - Photograpy competition & exhibition

For the third year running, Louth Volunteer Centre is combining volunteering and art by organising an amateur photographic competition and exhibition, 'Lens a Hand', aimed at promoting and encouraging volunteering in Louth.

The theme for the competition is "capture the imact of volunteering in Louth" and it will be open to everyone who wishes to enter a photograph of themselves or a friend or colleague volunteering, showcasing the diversity of volunteering in action and illustrating its positive impact in the local community.

Competition will be open from April 1st to15th and prizes will be given for the best entries.

The exhibition, to take place in Drogheda and Dundalk during the month of April, will be an exciting and creative way of sharing the experience of helping others, its benefits and its stories.

Please note:  Entries will be accepted via our website from 1st April. Pictures may be submitted to us via Facebook/Twitter, however uploading your photo to these sites will reduce the printing quality so the photos wont be included in our exhibition.

Having been shortlisted in both the Best Customer Service and Best Community Contribution categories in the Drogheda Business Excellence Awards, Louth Volunteer Centre went on to win the Award for providing the Best Community Contribution.

The awards were presented at a gala in Drogheda on 22nd November, and were thrilled for our work to be recognised by the local business community in this way. John Cotterell, manager of Louth Volunteer Centre, said that it was a great honour to receive the award.
