National Volunteering Week 2021 takes place from Monday May 17th to Sunday May 23rd.

As we approach the first anniversary of the first lockdown, we are very mindful that this means that it has been a year since some of our regular volunteers have accessed volunteering. We know how important volunteering is to many people and that many of you liked to regularly pop into the office for a chat and to find out about the latest roles.
We are also really looking forward to getting back to the office and the resumption of the events and fundraisers with the groups that you all loved helping out! In the mean time, know that we are still here.

We are available for face to face virtual appointments while in level 5 restrictions. We can do this via Zoom, WhatsApp and Skype etc. We are always contactable on social media @volunteerlouth, by email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and at the other end of the phone from 9-5 Monday to Friday. Please do let us know if we can help you to find a volunteer role. Contact details for the team are available here.
While most volunteering roles are still being carried out remotely, there are still roles available and we are continuing to host monthly Exploring Volunteering sessions for volunteers on Zoom. We would be delighted to see you at one! Click on the link below to register for the next session on 27th March.
Finally, we understand that not everyone is accessing video conferencing apps such as Zoom and WhatsApp so we would like to share some helpful details.
LMETB Community Education Service is currently rolling out its Stay Connected project. Tutors are available to remotely support adult learners of all ages in staying connected with friends and family online.
As part of this project, an LMETB IT tutor will provide one hour of phone support to anyone who needs assistance in using the internet or social media for chatting or messaging.

Many older people are huge contributors to their communities bringing a wealth of life and professional experience to their roles. The COVID19 crisis has had multiple negative impacts on our communities, one of which has been the reduction in access to opportunities to make a difference in our community; especially for people in ‘older’ age brackets, told to cocoon from the outset of the crisis. Our communities have been the poorer for this loss but what has been the experience for the individual?
We would like to hear about your experience. Please join us at our online focus group (being held via Zoom) on Thursday 25th March at 1pm.
Pre booking is essential. Please click here to book a place, you will automatically get an email with access details for the event.
