Louth Volunteer Centre ran it's latest Garda Vetting Training session on Tursday 11th February.

The Volunteer Centre offer a low-cost Garda Vetting service to community organisations across the county that need to have their staff and volunteers vetted and the training runs quarterly. All training sessions are being held over Zoom in 2021. 

Our Garda Vetting training takes you through the current legislation, who should be vetted, when it is not necessary and how to submit vetting through the Evetting system. 

The training is suitable for not for profit organisations who wish to sign up to our Garda Vetting service, or that is registered with Louth Volunteer Centre and isn't sure whether they need to vet roles within their organisation. Ideally the attendee will be the person who is responsible for vetting in their organisation, but it is also suitable for aMembers, managers and anyone working on the administration of Garda Vetting.

Volunteering is a great way to make a difference and connect to your community, which can seem even more important at a time when we are being asked to keep our distance to keep each other safe. While it has not been possible for many of our local non-profits to keep their doors open, there are still plenty of opportunities to volunteer. A lot these groups are still operating and still need volunteers, and so are finding ways to volunteer safely.

At the session, our team will give an overview of I-VOL and some of the roles that are currently available. We will be there to answer your questions and give information about the variety of ways to get involved in volunteering, whether that be remote volunteering with some of our #VolunteerfromHome roles or something that will get you out of the house.
